Description
CAP Fund logoThe Early Childhood Family Support Program is a personal visiting program to support parents of children from birth to 3 years old.

This service is provided by the CAP Fund and the Early Childhood Interagency Council.

Family-visiting program
The Family-Visiting Program is a free program for those with children aged birth to 3 years old. It provides a variety of services tailored to individual family needs. A trained Family Support Specialist visits with a family in their home or at a location of their choosing—a park, childcare center, library, etc.—once or twice a month. This program uses the nationally recognized Born to Learn materials developed by Parents as Teachers. These materials use the latest brain research.

A Family Support Specialist:

  • Assists parents so they can give their children the best possible start in life.
  • Meets at a time and place that is convenient for families.
  • Screens children for developmental delays.
  • Provides information on child development.
  • Holds workshops & discussion groups on parenting issues.
  • Organizes play groups.
  • Helps families access community resources.
