National Child Care Information Center
The National Child Care Information Center has developed the following

Information on the Child Care and Development Block Grant, links
to other Administration on Children and Families sites, and

- Electronic Policy
Network
A resource site, including information and links to national
organizations working in child and family policy, welfare reform,
health policy, and economic research.
- ERIC Clearinghouse
on Elementary and Early Childhood Education
Provides access to an extensive body of education-related literature,
with a focus on child development, caring for young children,
and parenting.

Information Network
This site lists recent government reports and lets the user
search government information by keywords.

of Congress' State and Local Government Resource Page
Lists indexes of state and local sources of information on the
World Wide Web and provides maps of every state. Also links

Child Care Information Center
Sponsored by the Child Care Bureau, Administration for Children
and Families, Department of Health and Human Services, this
site provides a central access point for child care related
information. It also includes links to other organizations and
provides full-text documents.
- National Resource
Center for Health and Safety in Child Care
Funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, Department of
Health and Human Services, this site has the child care licensure
regulations for each state. Also available are health and safety
tips and full-text resources.
- Native
Web
A site that provides information about the lives and cultures
of Native Americans, Alaskan Natives, and other indigenous peoples.
The topics include languages, education, organizations, newsletters,
and other sites which focus on Native issues.

Search
Full-text of all federal legislation proposed in the House or
Senate is included on this site and can be searched by keyword,

Provides information on brain development in the
Great Beginnings section, including late-breaking
news from research periodicals and the popular press.
- Neuroscience
for Kids
Provides useful brain information for both teachers
and students. Includes brain facts, information
on both the effects of drugs and neurological disorders,
current neuroscience articles, and suggestions for
classroom activities. This site offers wonderful
graphics and extensive lists of on- and off-line
resources.

Geared toward parents and caregivers, this website
stresses the importance or early childhood brain
development. Includes brain facts, information on
developmental states, and audio/visual clips of

The focus of this site in on healthy child development.
Provides information for both parents and professionals.
Included on this site are current articles and press
releases.

Institute on Drug Abuse
This interactive, colorful site provides extensive
information on the effect of drugs on the brain.
Click on "NIDA goes to school" for information
geared toward teachers and students. Offers both
general brain facts and current neurological research
reports. Also has the great series, "Mind Over
Matter."

This site is a terrific resource page full of informative
links that are geared for students, teachers, parents,
and administrators at all knowledge levels. Includes
links to the Neuroscience for Kids and "2 little,

Though it specializes in brain dysfunction, there
are many good links. The information is reliable,
but a little more difficult (some background knowledge

and parents.

Child Trauma Academy
Dr. Bruce Perry's sitemany in-depth articles
on child abuse and neglect; includes a great description
of brain development. New materials are added frequently.
- Civitan
International Research Center
Dr. Craig Ramey's site features information and
research important to professionals, parents and
persons interested in early child development including:
child care, early education (Abecedarian Project),
and related public policies.

New York Times
Features a science section each Tuesday that often
covers the latest scientific research related to
